I learned how to make bánh xèo from my mom tonight! I asked her for the recipe yesterday, so Ba and Ma decided to have some for dinner today :3 I’m super stoked to make it for my friends at Berkeley. Some people call it a “Vietnamese omelette,” but I’m not cool with that translation because it doesn’t have any egg. It’s yellow because of tumeric powder. Wikipedia calls it a “sizzling cake,” which is really cute because my mom can only pronounce it as “ziggling.” Whoo, passing down cultural and family traditions!
